Four apps for new criminal laws unveiled
Union Home Minister recently unveiled four new apps designed to enhance India’s criminal justice system.
These apps are part of a broader initiative to modernize and streamline legal processes under the new criminal laws.
The four apps introduced:
e-Sakshya: This app allows investigating officers to record videos and take photographs of crime scenes, which are then securely transmitted to an evidence locker and linked to the chargesheet.
Nyay Setu: This app connects various components of the justice system, including police, prisons, prosecution, and forensics, facilitating smoother communication and coordination.
Nyay Shruti: This app enables court hearings through electronic means, allowing witnesses to provide their statements via video conferencing.
e-Summons: This app handles the electronic compliance of legal orders, such as summons and warrants, ensuring they are delivered and acknowledged efficiently.
These apps aim to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility within the criminal justice system, marking a significant step towards a more technologically advanced legal framework in India.
