DAY-NRLM Launches Million Designers, Billion Dreams
The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) has recently launched an innovative initiative called “Million Designers, Billion Dreams” in collaboration with LEAP.
This program aims to empower rural leaders, frontline change agents, and village entrepreneurs across India with systems design know-how to tackle complex societal challenges.

Promoting Collaboration: Encouraging collaboration among diverse stakeholders to address complex challenges.

About the DAY-NRLM
The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) is a flagship program of the Government of India aimed at alleviating rural poverty and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
Launched in 2011, the mission seeks to empower rural poor households by providing them with opportunities for self-employment and skilled wage employment.
Key features of DAY-NRLM include:
Self-Help Groups (SHGs): Formation and strengthening of SHGs to promote savings, credit, and income-generating activities.
Financial Inclusion: Facilitating access to financial services, including bank linkages and credit support.
Skill Development: Providing training and capacity-building programs to enhance the skills of rural youth and women.
Livelihood Promotion: Supporting various livelihood activities such as agriculture, livestock, and non-farm enterprises.
Social Inclusion: Ensuring the inclusion of marginalized and vulnerable sections of society.
The mission aims to reach out to 70 million rural households across India and improve their quality of life by promoting sustainable livelihoods and enhancing their income levels.
