Cabinet approves 8 high-speed road corridor projects
The Union Cabinet has approved eight high-speed road corridor projects worth Rs 50,655 crore.
These projects span a total length of 936 km and aim to improve logistics efficiency and connectivity across India.
- Agra – Gwalior Corridor: An 88-km, 6-lane corridor that will reduce travel time between Agra and Gwalior by 50%.
- Kharagpur – Moregram Corridor: A 231-km, 4-lane corridor designed to enhance connectivity between West Bengal and the North-East.
- Raipur – Ranchi Corridor: This project will boost connectivity between Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
- Tharad – Deesa – Mehsana – Ahmedabad Corridor: A 6-lane corridor to complete the high-speed road network in Gujarat.
- Ayodhya Ring Road: A 4-lane ring road to improve access to Ayodhya.
- Kanpur Ring Road: A 6-lane ring road to decongest highway networks around Kanpur.
- Northern Guwahati Bypass: A 4-lane bypass to facilitate better access to the North-East.
- Nashik Phata – Khed Corridor: An 8-lane elevated flyover near Pune to ease logistics between Pune and Nashik.
These projects are expected to generate around 4.42 crore man-days of employment.
